AGM Report

The Scod Association AGM was held on Saturday 28th November at Itchenor SC. The meeting was attended by 13 members from as far away as Exmouth. The main outcomes of the meeting were:

  • to discontinue the provision of the Scod mooring in Cowes, it was thought that the rising cost of the mooring was not benefitting enough of the membership and that the money could be put to better use eg more rallies. This was not a unanimous decision and there were assurances that the mooring could be reinstated in the future if the membership so demanded.

  • Mark Taylor the Class Captain indicated his intention to stand down and Jaik Tari has volunteered to replace him Mark was thanked for his input into the association.

  • Phil Wyness, Hon Treasurer and Peter Shaw, Hon Archivist have also indicated they will be standing down in the next year

  • there was some constructive criticism and suggestions to make the website more appropriate to the general membership, which will be taken on board

  • there will be at least two rallies organised next year at locations to be decided, there is also an intention to organise a flotilla to visit Brest/Douranez 2012, more details to follow

The evening was rounded off with a 4 course meal provided by the sailing club
